DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to akagera and afternoon boat safari
Depart Kigali with your driver guide as you enjoy views of the Rwandan countryside as you head east towards akagera national park. on arrival, you will embark on a game drive through the park where early sightings may include baboons, impalas, waterbucks and even elephants. Later check into your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari on lake Ihema which is the largest lake. While on the boat cruise, you will spot hippos, Nile crocodiles and a wide range of aquatic birds such as African fish eagles, kingfishers and the rare shoebill stork. After return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and return to Kigali
Wake up early and enjoy tea before heading out for a sunrise game drive. Drive through the northern plains of the park where wildlife viewing is at its best. With luck, you may complete your big five checklist by spotting rhinos, elephants, lions, leopards and buffaloes in their natural habitat.
After the game drive, return to the lodge lunch followed by a check out. Exit the park and embark on the journey to Kigali passing through local villages and farmlands. On arrival in Kigali, you will be dropped off at your hotel or airport for your flight back home.
