DETAILED ITINERARY
Your day begins with an early morning pick up from your hotel in Kigali or nearby place. Enjoy a scenic drive eastward through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside enroute to Akagera national park which is a home to the big five and the lake.
On arrival at the park entrance, you will check in at the reception and receive a short briefing from the park authorities. Before heading to lake ihema, you can have an optional morning game drive through the southern circuit of the park. the drive offers a chance to see giraffes, zebras, impalas, Topis, waterbucks and elephants.
Later, you will arrive at jetty and board the boat. As you cruise across the calm waters of Rwanda’s second largest lake, keep your eyes peeled for hippos surfacing in pods, Nile crocodiles along the shore and over 500 species of birds including African fish eagles, herons, kingfishers and the elusive shoebill stork.
