DETAILED ITINERARY
Pick up from your hotel in Kigali. After a short briefing, set off for Akagera national park this is approximately 2 to 3 hours. While on the journey, you will have views of Rwanda’s beautiful countryside.
On arrival at Akagera national park, complete park formalities and meet your guide. Embark on a thrilling morning game drive through the parks diverse habitats. Look out for buffalo, elephants, Masai giraffes, zebras, topis, impalas, waterbucks and with luck, you will spot lions and rhinos. Keep your binoculars handy for spotting birds and smaller creatures along the way. After the game drive, you will have a picnic lunch at designated view point overlooking the savannah or near lake Ihema.
In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Ihema. Spot hippos wallowing in the shallows, giant Nile crocodiles basking on the banks and an impressive array of aquatic birds including African fish eagles and kingfishers.
