DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Akagera national park-Boat cruise
On arrival, you will be met by a professional guide who will brief you about the safari. After, you will embark on the journey to Akagera national park. The drive takes 2 hours from Kigali. On arrival you will check into your lodge for a relaxation and lunch.
After lunch, you will connect to Lake Ihema for a boat cruise. The cruise offers an amazing birding safari as well as aquatic life of Akagera national park such as hippos and crocodiles among others. After the boat cruise safari, you will return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2; Morning and evening game drive
In the morning after breakfast, you will enjoy a full day within the national park on the wheels. You will go to the national park with packed lunch. The national park has a number of trails where you will help you have an encounter with wildlife species such as rhinos, elephants, lions and giraffes among others. You will break off for lunch as you cool off
In the afternoon, you will change the sector and spot animals you may have missed earlier. After the game drives, you will return to the hotel before the sunsets and reminisce on the game drive experience
Day 3: Behind the scenes tour and cultural visit
In the morning after breakfast, you will take on the behind scene tour which is offered by the park. The visitors get a chance to get a deeper and detailed understanding of the works going on along with the conservation effort and future plans of the park. After, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will embark on the cultural tour experience where you will get a chance to interact with the locals, get involved in activities such as dances and making local beer among others. After the cultural visit, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali
In the morning after breakfast, you will have a short game drive before heading back to Kigali. This helps you to spot animals that you missed earlier. After the game drive, you will proceed to Kigali. On arrival you will be dropped at Kigali international airport or any place of convenience.
