DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Akagera national park and evening game drive
Your African vacation safari begins with an early morning pick up from your hotel in kigali. drive east through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside for about 2-3 hours to reach Akagera national park. On arrival, check into the lodge and have lunch.
Later, head for an evening game drive in the parks southern plains. While on the game drive, look out for herds of impala, buffalo, zebras, giraffes and rhinos. After the game drive, return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Game drive and Lake Ihema
After an early breakfast, set off for a morning African safari game drive in Akagera. Explore the northern plains which offer the best chances of spotting elephants, elands, topis, buffalo and other savannah wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild and later in the afternoon head to Lake Ihema for a boat cruise where you will spot hippos, crocodiles and numerous water birds like African fish eagles and kingfishers. After, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Morning game drive and return to Kigali
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before going on one last short game drive for final wildlife viewing and photography. Afterwards, check out and begin your scenic drive to Kigali. On arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or airport thus marking the end of your memorable African safari in Rwanda
