DETAILED TINERARY
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali and Sunset and night game drive
In the early morning, you will depart Kigali and embark on a scenic 2-3hours drive to the southern entrance of akagera national park. arrive at the park and check into your lodge for a relaxation and lunch.
Later in the evening, you will embark on a nocturnal game drive which is operated by akagera park authorities using spotlights and open 4*4 safari vehicles. While on the game drive, you will look out for lions on the hunt, leopards prowling, bushbabies, civets, genets, spotted hyenas and many more. The rangers use red-filtered lights to avoid disturbing the animals while offering the best visibility. After the game drives, you will return to the lodge for a warm dinner under the stars.
Day 2: Optional activities and second game drive-return to Kigali
Early in the morning, you can opt for a morning game drive within the southern sector to spot other wildlife species such as giraffes, zebras, antelopes, elephants and buffalos. Alternatively, you can have a boat cruise on lake Ihema to see hippos, crocodiles and water birds. Later return to the lodge for a relaxation and lunch.
Later in the evening at 6pm, embark on the second nocturnal game drive where you will explore different routes within the southern sector of the national park. with the two nights game drives, your chances of spotting elusive species such as leopards or aardvark increases. After the game, you will proceed to Kigali and on arrival, you will be dropped on your place of convenience.
