DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to volcanoes and visit Ibyiwacu cultural village
Early in the morning, you will be picked up by our professional guide and embark on a 2-3hours scenic drive to Musanze. While on the journey, you will enjoy stunning views of the countryside, terraced hills and a glimpse of the volcanoes. On arrival, you will check into the lodge for a relaxation and lunch.
After lunch, you will visit the iby’iwacu cultural village to experience Rwandan traditions, music and dance. After the visit, you will return back to the lodge for dinner and prepare for the next day activities.
Day 2: Mount Bisoke hike and transfer back to Kigali
In the morning, you will check out of the lodge after breakfast and head to the national park headquarters at kinigi for a briefing. After the briefing, you will start on the hike which takes 4-6 hours round trip depending on the pace of hikers and trail conditions.
Trek through bamboo forests, afro-alpine vegetation as altitude increases. While on the hike, look out for the golden monkeys, duikers and forest birds. On reaching the summit, you will enjoy the beautiful crater lake, with amazing views across Rwanda and into Congo.
After, you will begin to descend and arrive back at the trailhead late in the evening. On arrival, you will proceed with the journey to Kigali and later dropped at your hotel or any place of convenience.
