3 Days Gorilla Trekking In Virunga National Park
The 3 day gorilla trekking safari in Virunga national park offers an extra ordinary chance to encounter the endangered mountain gorillas in one of Africa’s oldest and most bio diverse national parks. The park is located in the eastern highlands of the democratic republic of Congo and it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its dramatic volcanoes, dense forest and intimate gorilla trekking experiences.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1; Arrival and transfer to Lake Kivu
On arrival at the Kigali international airport, you will be met by our safari driver guide who will transfer you by road to lake kivu in gisenyi with an en route stop at Nyanza kings palace, Murambi genocide memorial and butare. On arrival at the lake, you will enjoy a boat ride on Lake Kivu and you will spot animals such as hippos and crocodiles as well as birds endemic to the region. After, you will be transferred to the hotel at the shores of Lake Kivu for your dinner and a relaxation for the next day activity.
Day 2: gorilla trekking
Early in the morning, you will have breakfast and proceed through Goma Bukima park head offices for a briefing. After the briefing, you will embark on the amazing expedition through the jungle to trek the endangered mountain gorillas. Once you meet the gorilla family, you will spend an hour with these primates as you observe their way of living, feeding pattern, how they relate with one another and how they nature their young ones.
After the trekking, you will return to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate of participation and then proceed back to the lodge and have late lunch as well as a relaxation.
Day 3: Departure
Wake up at leisure, have breakfast and then prepare to embark on the journey back to Kigali city. Depending on the time of arrival, you will visit some places in Kigali such as the genocide memorial site, national museum among others. After, you will be dropped off at a hotel or international airport for your flight back home.
