DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kampala
Depending on the time of arrival, you will be welcomed by our guide at Entebbe international airport who will brief you and then embark on the journey to Kampala. On arrival, you will check into the lodge and have an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison falls
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Murchison falls national park. The journey takes 4 to 5 hours and you will have a stopover at Zziwa rhino sanctuary for a trekking. After the rhino trekking, you will have lunch and later proceed with the journey to the park.
On arrival, you will drive to the top of the falls where you will have great views of river Nile, animals, bird species and after you will head to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Game drives and boat cruise
After morning breakfast, you will head out for the morning game drive in the park. the game drive is done in different game tracks such as Buligi, Victoria and many more. During the game drive, you will spot animals like elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, warthogs, antelopes and waterbucks. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for a boat cruise which takes 2 hours and while on the boat cruise, you will spot animals like elephants, buffalos, antelopes on the water shores, hippos and crocodiles in water and some water birds. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for dinner and night stay.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale national park
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Kibale Forest national park. while on the way, you will have enroute lunch and stop overs to take photos and stretch your legs. on arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and prepare for the next day activities.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and nature walk
After morning breakfast, you will head to kanyanchu visitors centre for a briefing. After the briefing, you will be grouped into 5 people and allocated a group to trek then head to the into the forest in search of the chimpanzees. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will spend an hour with learning about their life style, behaviours, watching them breastfeed, feed, play up in the trees as you take photos and record videos. After the chimpanzee trekking, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland where you will have views of bird species such as great blue turaco, papyrus gonolek, primates such as black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, red tailed monkeys, plant species and butterflies. After the visit at Bigodi swamp, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer to queen Elizabeth national park and game drive
Have breakfast in the morning, check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to queen Elizabeth national park. the journey takes 3 to 4 hours and upon arrival, you will drive through the park and proceed to the lodge where you will check in and have lunch.
Later in the evening, you will have a game drive in kasenyi plains where you spot various animal species such as elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, bushbucks among others. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Transfer to volcanoes national park
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and head to kazinga channel for a boat cruise. The boat cruise takes 2 hours and you will spot animals such as elephants, buffalos, waterbucks as well as hippos, Nile crocodiles in water and waterbirds such as martial eagle, papyrus Gonolek, pelicans, African skimmers, cormorants among others.
After the boat cruise, you will embark on the journey to volcanoes national park via ishasha sector. You will have lunch and proceed with the journey to the park via cyanika border in Kisoro. On arrival, you will check into the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Gorilla trekking
Early morning after breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will be grouped into 8 people, allocated a gorilla family to trek. The trekking takes 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas.
Once they are located, you will spend an hour with them as you learn more about their habits, behaviours, watch them feed, breastfeed and many more as you take photos and record videos. After the trekking, you will return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Golden monkey trekking and visit the iby’iwacu village
After early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the jungle and this takes 30 minutes to 4hours depending on the location of the golden monkeys. Once they are located, you will spend an hour with them in their habitat learning more about their behaviours, habitats, lifestyle, watch them jump up in trees among others. After the trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will go for a cultural tour where you will visit Iby’iwacu cultural village and while there, you will have an opportunity of tasting Kinyarwanda food, locally brewed beer made from bananas, you will be entertained by the women as they perform Kinyarwanda dance, entertainment through music, drama, story telling among others. After the cultural tour, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 10: transfer to Kigali and departure
Wake up at leisure, have breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Kigali for a city tour. While on the city tour, you will visit places like the Kigali genocide, where you will get information about the 1994 Rwanda genocide, kimironko local where you will meet local market vendors sell fruits, vegetables, handmade crafts like mats, baskets, visit cultural sites like kandt museum of natural history among others.
After the city tour, you will go for lunch and later transfer to Kigali international airport for your flight back home.
